Go and Camp in South Africa, or camp in Botswana, Namibia and in our surrounding countries, it is the best way to experience a region.  Camping is a wonderful way to spend the holidays with your children and it allows you more freedom.

Caravan parks and campsites are easy to come by in South Africa and you will find many of them to pride themselves in having clean ablution facilities.

Pitching your tent in one of the many campsites in South Africa will inevitably lead to great camaraderie between your fellow campers, the children seem to make new friends on every camping trip and the adults – if not meeting at the wash-up area, share a braai or beer.

Caravanning is for all age groups and these days with the various electric points, can be an excuse for living the outdoor life!  Whether you are students crammed into a tent, holidays makers in a motor home or well refined campers, you will find that the campsites near the sea and beaches, in the bush, desert, forest or mountains will allow you a holiday that meets your budget and gives you that break away.

Camping in the Drakensberg is great at any of the resorts, but camping up in the mountains can become hazardous in the summer season and it is advisable not to camp near streams – too often a thunderstorm will cause a flash flood and destroy a campsite within seconds.  Hiking in winter might seem like a good idea, but getting caught in a blizzard without the correct clothing, footwear and food is not something we want you to experience, so take precautions and beware of the weather, take enough water – you never know if that famous water source shown on the map will be dried up or flowing!

Where ever you choose to camp in Southern Africa, we wish you well and trust this website will help you to find a suitable venue.
